E26 - Medium base Lamp Socket
| Quality Sockets for Quality RestorationsWhen restoring older lighting it is best to replace both socket and lamp cord. |
Phenolic Husk Lamp Sockets are a popular style that was frequently used on lighting in the mid 20th century. Unique bottom turn knob design. This practical design can be used vertically or horizontally. Cord exits from bottom side of socket.
2 piece unit:
- Outer husk is made of bakelite, an early form of plastic, produced from a synthetic chemical resin.
- Socket interior fits inside husk. It has screw terminals for lamp wire
3/8" threaded stem with bushing projects from socket base. Unscrew bushing from stem, insert stem into mounting-hole then screw bushing on. Tighten to secure socket to lamp.
Before making any changes to electrical fixtures and/or lamps:
- Disconnect plug/wire from the electrical source.
- Turning lamp off will not protect you from electric shock.
- If you are unsure how to safely proceed contact a licensed electrician.
