Finding an exact match for an old lock is not always possible, as only a limited amount of sizes are now made.

Jewelry Box Locks are a great size for small boxes, silver chests and game cases. This lock is well made with a dependable lever mechanism. The quality is evident. They are made in England. Key has decorative shape.

Jewelry box locks are a half mortise type. Use on boxes with lift lids. Lock mounts into cut out indentation inside box. Strike attaches underneath surface of lid. Once installed, lock is only visible from box interiors. Strike drops down into lock when lid is closed.

The backset measurement is necessary if selecting a replacement lock:

• If you have original lock: measure distance between top edge of lock to lock pin in center of keyhole. This measurement is known as the backset.
• If original lock is not available, determine backset by measuring: distance from center of keyhole (where lock pin will be) to top edge of box.
• The replacement lock's backset measurement must match location of keyhole in furniture.
