| Glass Lamp ChimneysThese Lamp Chimneys are expertly reproduced to emulate original designs. Like their vintage counterparts, there may be minor differences in glass thickness and dimensions. These slight variations are inherent to the manufacturing process. As a result, overall dimensions of chimneys can vary slightly. If purchasing multiple chimneys we do our best to match size and glass thickness for a cohesive and polished look. |
Miniature Lamp Chimney fits some Japanese burners. It has a 1-1/8" base diameter and short height. Used in the Victorian era on very small oil lamps. Use on antique glass, porcelain and metal oil lamps to replace broken or missing chimneys. The small bottom fitter and short height is needed to fit the scale of miniature lamps.
Our Lamp Chimneys are made of durable borosilicate glass. This unique glass is known for its ability to withstand temperature fluctuations, making it well-suited for lighting purposes. The glass is thin, mimicking the thickness found in many antique chimneys. Use care when placing in burner/holder and do not force into place.
Lamp Chimneys: measured base-diameter x height
- Height is a matter of personal taste. Typically lamp chimney rises 2″-4″ above top of lamp shade.
- Bottom diameter is measured outside edge to outside edge. Most burners have a narrow seat for chimney to rest on.
- If having trouble getting an accurate diameter. Test by cutting a ring to needed diameter. Slip down over burner to check fit.
- Fit: The chimney should put slight pressure on the tines of the chimney holder or burner which in turn holds the oil lamp chimney in a stable position. This ensures a proper updraft enabling the burner to function correctly. Make sure chimney fits securely if using on an oil lamp.
