Opal Hobnail Lamp Shades are back in style due to revived interest in popular 1940's - 1950's styles. During this time frame Hobnail lamp shades were used on vanity and small table lamps, often with a matching font. However the origins of these shades are much earlier. They were originally used on oil lamps during Victorian times.
These white opal hobnail lamp shades are hand blown with an embossed hobnail pattern and ruffled crimp top. Use as replacement lampshades on antique oil lamps and vintage table lamps. Made in USA.
Measuring 7" Opal Hobnail Lamp Shades
- Shade-fitter is the bottom edge diameter of lampshade. This measurement is typically slightly less than 7".
- Shade-fitter sits in shade ring, tripod or spider for support.
- Opening in shade-holder, where shade sits, will be the fitter size.
- 7" fitter lampshades proportionally fit: 8" - 9" lamp bases. Occasionally they are seen on shorter or taller lamps.
- Lampshades are blown glass. Glass blowing techniques can cause slight differences in glass-thickness. These differences can affect bottom diameter and weight of lampshade.
- If needing a pair please order together to assure match.
