Rayon Fabric Covered Lamp Wire is useful when wiring tight spaces on wall sconces, chandeliers and lamp clusters. Use where standard twin wire is to thick to fit, such as early gas lamp restoration.+
Fabric covered lamp wire is well made. Stranded lamp wire is covered with plastic insulation. Fine, tight braided rayon fabric covers plastic insulation. Fabric covering is a vintage gold color with tracer marks at regular intervals along cord. It is made for low temperature, low wattage applications. It is not-intended for appliances. This thin fabric covered lamp wire is manufactured with strict safety standards however it is not UL approved.
When wiring lamps it is best to use one strand of fabric covered lamp wire with tracer and one strand of matching wire without tracer. This provides easy identification of wires.
