Additional Locks

This Half Mortise Lock has a rounded plate. This style was popular on oak furniture in the early 1900's. It was widely used on drawers and doors hinged on right. The polished steel construction and light weight is authentic. This "machine" lock easily installs in a mortise cut by a router or machinery. The lock has an angled selvedge edge seen on many furniture pieces from this time frame. Strike not included as not required.

This is a very reasonably priced lock, as such: locking mechanism is average, not as smooth as finer made brass locks, yet is serviceable. Made in Asia. If using on doors please select according to side door is hinged on.

Install Considerations
  1. When using on doors: select according to side door is hinged on. This lock is for cabinet doors hinged on right.
  2. When using on drawers: Keyholes are off-center requiring lock to be positioned accordingly.
  3. Lock installs into a partial cut out in furniture. In closed position, lock is not seen.
If replacing a lock: the backset measurement must be determined
  • If you have original lock: measure distance between top edge of lock to lock pin in center of keyhole. This measurement is known as the backset.
  • If old lock not available, determine backset by measuring: distance from center of keyhole (where lock pin will be) to top edge of drawer or side edge of door.
  • The backset measurement of the replacement lock, must match backset measurement in original lock and/or keyhole location measurement in drawer or cabinet door.
