Tilt top Table Catches date back to the 18th century. They where originally used on tea tables. When the table wasn't being used, the top was positioned upright and often moved out of the way.
Tilt top table catches are easy to use. They have a spring loaded mechanism with a thumb knob release. A smooth transition is achieved when changing table top positions between level and vertical positions. The unique design secures table top when flat. Table top is held in position by catch. When upright, catch is released.
Install: surface mount tilt top table catches to underside of table tops. Strike mounts to table pivot block or pedestal, requiring slight mortising.
