Glass Hobnail Lamp Shades
White Hobnail Lampshades are a unique design. The embossed hobnail pattern is a series of raised bumps covering the shade's surface in a structured order. They are made of a beautiful, luminous white opal glass. This raised pattern is striking both lit and unlit. Although a favorite style dating from the late 1800's, they gained huge popularity in the 1950's. Use on glass, brass and nickel oil lamps. These glass hobnail lamp shades are an excellent choice when restoring antique lamps.

These Glass Hobnail Lamp Shades are made in USA. Skilled craftsmen hand-blow each shade. Due to the nature of any hand-blown glass, slight imperfections may naturally occur. 2 shades are handblown together as one. Glass is then cut in half, creating 2 shades. The cut separation makes the base a little rough, this is not a flaw. This glass is both beautiful and luminous offering a a smooth, quiet appearance.
Measuring 10" Hobnail lamp shades
- Shade-fitter is the bottom edge diameter of lampshade. This measurement is typically slightly less than 10".
- Shade-fitter sits in shade ring, tripod or spider for support.
- Opening in shade-holder, where shade sits, will be the fitter size.
- 10" fitter lampshades proportionally fit: 9" - 10-1/2" lamp bases. Occasionally they are seen on taller lamps.
- Lampshades are blown glass. Glass blowing techniques can cause slight differences in glass-thickness. These differences can affect bottom diameter and weight of lampshade.
- If needing a pair please order together to assure match.
