Brass Chest Lifts are a traditional handle for large trunks.  They are also used on chests, boxes and dressers. The style is authentic from the 1900's.  They are often seen on Campaign furniture and traveling trunks.Handles mount on each side of chest at a comfortable height to lift from.

These lifting handles are brass with a built in stop. Thus the handle can swing up, to 90 degrees. They are exact replicas of originals. However we do-not suggest picking up heavy pieces with them. Brass is a naturally soft metal,  therefore when moving furniture, we recommend lifting it from underneath.

Install Brass Chest Lifts

  • Surface Mount
  • Determine mounting location
  • Mark then drill pilot holes at screw locations
  • Attach brass chest lift with four wood screws

A Very Good Value

I have 2 customers that wanted very nice “Solid Brass” handles. So my go to place for high quality hardware is Paxton Hardware. These handles are high quality pieces!

I had the handles in 2 days after I ordered them on line. Paxton people are great people to work with and very good customer service.

We feel very lucky to have found this replacement for a broken antique chest lift. Amazingly it's an almost perfect match!

Brass Hardware

Never ordered from Paxton Hardware before. The prices were good and the products I ordered were excellent quality. I was very pleased and will definitely be shopping here again.

furniture lifting handles

good customer service - shipped quickly. product quality is good - no seams or pits on casting, stamped escutcheons are crisp. only negative is that the screws are too small - larger heads are more more historically accurate because screws on handles that were meant to bear weight were heftier.
