Hepplewhite Drawer Pulls - Federal furniture handles are a truly functional and elegant style. These oval cabinet pulls offer a neoclassic design with intricate lines, sweeping curves and pleasing proportions. The size of this style tended to be slightly smaller than those of the prior period. An English cabinet maker, by the name of George Hepplewhite, created this style. After becoming popular in England, his designs crossed the Atlantic. They then took America by storm in the late 1700's. Thus began the Federal Period. Furniture styles were updated to reflect these new trends. A French splayed foot, curved apron and serpentine front chest became popular.
