    18th Century Style Drawer Pull

    Size

    • 2-1/4" Boring
    • Overall: 3-1/2" x 2-1/2"

Antique Open-work Drawer Pulls are a beautiful English style. The distinctive pierced design is often referred to as "Chinese Chippendale".  It was favored in England with early cabinet makers who used these open work drawer pulls when creating "Chinoiserie" designed furniture. This striking style adds distinctiveness to furniture drawers while allowing the natural wood to show through the open work design.

Antique drawer pulls are made of brass. The finish has an aged mottled appearance. It resembles brass which has darkened over many years. Open work drawer pulls include backplate, two posts and bail handle. Made in England.

    Measure Colonial Chippendale Pulls

    • Boring: distance between center of mounting hole to center of adjacent mounting hole.
    • If replacing handles:  replacement-handle-boring must match actual boring measurement in drawer.
    • Overall Size: width and height of handle at widest point.

    Attach Chippendale Pulls

    • Posts, bail and backplate are separate, assemble when mounting.
    • Insert one post into backplate and position on drawer front. Insert screw, from drawer interior, through mounting hole and screw into back of post (do-not tighten).
    • Insert bail in mounted post, add second post to other end of bail, insert second post through backplate, continue as before.
    • Once together and in place, tighten screws.
    • Pulls are secured using 8-32 machine screws. Length supplied is determined by manufacturer. While supplied screw length is generally useful, occasionally a different size is required. Please let us know if you need a specific length. To determine the correct size: measure wood thickness and add 1/4".

Very nice drawer pulls. They will be put on the drawers of my newly made 18th century replica tables. These pulls will make a wonderful final touch to the drawers.

    Pierced Chippendale Brass

Pulls are just fine for the price point. They may not be for everyone, particularly if they're intended for original period furniture, since the edges are 90-degree squared instead of 45-degree beveled like originals. Also they come with modern hex nuts as opposed to period style cast brass nuts. But for the price, they'd be fine for mid-range type reproduction furniture.
