10 inch Oil Lamp Shade, Pink Rosebud

These glass lamp shades are made in the traditional manner that was used by American manufacturers from the 1800s into the 1900s. They are handblown in a mold by skilled craftsmen. In this historic process two lampshades are blown together as one unit. The center of this unit is then cut in half thereby creating 2 individual shades. Cutting them apart creates a slightly rough base, this is not a flaw. As this process uses authentic glass blowing techniques the glass may exhibit minor imperfections representative of old glass.

Each shade is hand-painted with pink rosebuds, it then undergoes a secondary firing to permanently set the decoration. The finish is glossy.
