Description

Maple Leaf Antique Chippendale Keyhole Plate is a small batwing style from the late 1700's. Authentic shaped escutcheon was used on Colonial Revival: "Governor Winthrop desks", mahogany dining room furniture and bedroom sets.

Material & Finish

Keyhole cover is brass. Finish is antique. It is darkened to look old. This finish is hand applied, it may have small specs of varying color and can slightly differ from one to the next.

Install

Install - Surface Mount Escutcheon

Locate best placement for keyhole on furniture front. Make sure keyhole is aligned correctly with key pin in lock. Be sure hole in key barrel is lined up correctly to comfortably go over pin in lock mechanism.
Mark location of both attachment pins. Be sure they are level with each other.
Drill small pilot hole at attachment pin locations.
Hold keyhole cover in place. Press each pin in hole and then tap into place.
