Drafting Table Supports

I installed the Drafting Table Supports onto a 64x30x1" plywood table top base. The drafting table is a Safco 60x37.5" top which has metal edges on 3 sides. Never having done this before required some experimentation regarding the placement of the Paxton supports on the base in order to verify the angle on inclination when the drafting table is raised. Once that was established, I had to figure out the order in which to screw the swivel base bracket and the lock down screw bracket. This requires disassembling the unit. First, I installed the lock down screw bracket to the side of the drafting table then inserting the rod through the screw bracket and finally screwing the Paxton base into the plywood base. Since the installation directions are not very detailed, figuring this out took some time. It's important to note you need to make careful measurements so that both supports are in alignment to prevent jamming when the drafting table is raised. Also, the thumb screws must very tight to prevent the heavy drafting table from slipping back down. Hope this helps. Good luck with your project.
