Measuring & Install

  • When selecting replacement hurricanes: first determine base diameter, known as the fitter. Bottom diameter is measured outside edge to outside edge. Most sconces have a 1-5/8" fitter size. 
  • Height is a matter of personal taste. It should be proportional to lamp, sconce or candlestick.
  • If having trouble getting an accurate diameter. Test by cutting a ring to needed diameter. Slip down over burner to check fit.
  • Gently place sconce in holder. It should fit snug but not tight.

Cut Grape Hurricane Shade is a favorite on antique and vintage lighting. Use on candlesticks, crystal chandeliers, wall sconces. Made of clear glass, this lamp hurricane is encircled with a delicate hand-etched grape design. Contoured shape. Use on wall sconces, some candle sticks and table lamps.

Material & Finish

These sconces are expertly made of Borosilicate glass. This durable type glass is different than regular glass. It is specifically designed to not crack under extreme temperature-changes. Glass is relatively thin, use care when placing in burner/holder. Do not force glass into holder.
