Japanned Lift Lid Locks are sized for blanket chests, tool boxes and large boxes. This style of antique box lock was used during the 19th century. These box locks are a half mortise style. Lock must be mortised into box interior. Brass strike attaches to underside of lift lid. Use keyhole cover to decoratively trim front of chest.
