Install

Install: Mica Uno Lamp Shade on Bridge Lamp

Bridge lampshades are used on lamps where shade hangs down from a lamp-arm. 

  • Lamp shade has a 1-1/4" uno threaded ring at top center of shade.
  • To use: the lamp must have a socket with uno threads on light bulb end of socket.
  • Lamp shade attaches to lamp by screwing the threaded ring in shade top directly onto lamp socket. 
  • Socket-switch is at top of shade for easy access.
  • For positioning of lamp shade, add a socket swivel between lamp and socket to enable positioning of shade so that light can be directed to best angle for task lighting.

Compatibility between UNO threads on lamp-shade and lamp-socket

  • Uno-threads, on new and old lamp sockets, can vary slightly.
  • Most sockets and shades will thread together, however occasionally the threading on some sockets is not compatible.
  • To insure compatibility, between threads on uno lamp shade and threads on. uno socket, it is best to purchase socket and lamp shade together.

Description

Amber Mica UNO Lampshades offer a refined natural look showcasing distinctive mineral patterns. It presents a pleasing organic appearance. When illuminated, these lampshades emit a gentle, semi-transparent glow.  Yet the downward-light, that uno shades are most known for, shines a bright light downward making it useful for task lighting. This shade is a favorite from the Arts and Crafts era.


Uno-threaded lamp shades and uno sockets may have slight variations in threading. While most combinations work together, occasional incompatibilities can occur. To guarantee a perfect fit and avoid threading issues, we recommend purchasing your shade and socket together so that we can check compatibility. This ensures seamless assembly and reliable performance for your lighting fixture.
Material & Finish

Our Mica Lampshades use a centuries-old technique of laminating mica flakes and crystals together with shellac or resin. These naturally occurring minerals come in various colors. They are known for being heat-resistant and non-conductive, making them perfect for use in lighting. Once made, these mica sheets are carefully wrapped around a rust-resistant, brown metal frame, with the top, bottom, and sides bound in dark brown braided trim. The braid displays a faux leather appearance.
