Premium Brass Lamp Sockets are noticeably superior to standard sockets. Each is superbly crafted of heavy turned brass with a matching brass turn knob switch. Wire exits thru socket-cap. Socket-cap and socket-shell screw together with a threaded ring. This provides a strong joint, far better than standard sockets, where cap and shell just snap together. Use on new and antique table and floor lamps.
The socket body is heavy turned brass, providing superior durability and a long-lasting quality appearance. Unlike brass-plated or brass-guilt sockets, it does not become dull or washed-out over time.
The UNO threads at light bulb-end of socket, allow a 1-1/4" threaded center ring to directly screw onto socket. While this socket is compatible with most bridge lamp shades, there may be an occasional incompatibility between shade and socket due to slight variations in threads.
Before making any changes to electrical fixtures and/or lamps:
- Disconnect plug/wire from the electrical source.
- Turning lamp off will not protect you from electric shock.
- If you are unsure how to safely proceed contact a licensed electrician.

James R. I used this and a second premium lamp socket to replace two faulty lamp sockets. I have now purchased four premium lamp sockets and am very pleased with their features and material. They are very reliable and the best I have found!

Joe M. This is a very well made socket. It has the UNO thread, so a steel reflector/shade I'd made in my shop screwed right on. The socket is sufficiently heavy to mount a vintage look steel shade, and parts are well machined & finished throughout.Paxton's price was very reasonable when compared to other lamp supply companies online. Prompt attention to the order and good follow-through by Paxton made it a great little purchase to complete a very special lamp. With an antique style light bulb, and the steel reflector/shade, this socket made a really good job.
