Tilt top Table Catches secure table-top in normal flat position. When this brass table latch is released, top is repositioned to upright position, 18th century style, used on tea tables. This style dates back to the 18th century. They where originally used on tea tables. When the table wasn't being used, the top was positioned upright and often moved out of the way.
Tilt top table catches are easy to use. This brass table latch has a spring loaded mechanism with a thumb knob release. A smooth transition is achieved when changing table top positions between level and vertical positions. The unique design secures table top when flat. Table top is held in position by catch. Not what you are looking for, other types of table hardware available.

Install Brass Table Latch:
- Surface mount catch to underside of table tops.
- Strike mounts to table pivot block or pedestal, requiring slight mortising.

Roger C. This replaced an original non functioning catch. Not only does the new catch look better than the original, the screw holes matched the original holes so no drilling was required. The catch works as intended and appears to be very well made.

tyler b. GREAT Product. works just as discribed. do wish that the slots on the screws wre a little deeper, and that the catch would retract with contact with the table, but it works fantastically as is.

Jim W. Received the latches within just a few days, but will not put them in place until the tables are otherwise completed. The latches are exactly what I wanted for this project.
