When rewiring vintage lighting it is best to replace both socket and lamp cord.

White Candle Sleeves are economical white plastic. Use on standard, Edison base candle sockets.

Slide chandelier candle sleeves over standard candle socket with cardboard insulator.
Correct height is important. Once in place the top of the candle cover should be level with the top of the socket or insulator. If it is taller the heat from the socket / bulb may scorch it.
Candle sleeves are not to be used as a socket insulator.
4 inch height can be cut shorter if needed.
