Material & Finish

These glass lamp shades are made in the traditional manner that was used by American manufacturers from the 1800s into the 1900s. They are handblown in a melon shaped mold by skilled craftsmen. In this historic process two lampshades are blown together as one unit. The center of this unit is then cut in half thereby creating 2 individual shades. Cutting them apart creates a slightly rough base, this is not a flaw. As this process uses authentic glass blowing techniques the glass may exhibit minor imperfections representative of old glass.
