Tilt Top Table Catches enable table-tops to be used in two positions: flat and upright. This 18th century design was one of the earlies space saving mechanisms used on furniture.  When not in use, the tea table top was positioned upright, table was then easily moved to an out of the way corner. Easy to use, providing a smooth transition when adjusting table-top between level and vertical positions. Spring loaded mechanism with a thumb knob release securely fastens table top when flat.
