Old Style Antique Casters, X-Small

Antique Old Style Furniture Casters were used in the mid 1800's on small tables and chairs. Old style refers to this early type which has a short thick stem. As this caster is a plate-type style, it provides added support distributing the weight thereby creating a more stable and secure connection. These vintage furniture wheels are reproduced to match originals.

If updating vintage furniture, replace all casters. This insures uniform height, style & appearance.

This caster is solid brass crafted from substantial castings. The stem is short and thick.  Caster swivels at swivel-joint between fork and leg plate Finish is darkened to look old, ideal for antique furniture. 

Install Old Style Plate Type Caster

• Casters should be installed perpendicular to the floor.
• Drill hole, depth of stem.
• Gently tap stem up into leg. Stem should fit snug but not tight, in hole.
• Outside diameter of mounting plate should not be larger than furniture leg diameter. Mark location of plate screw holes in bottom of leg.
• Remove caster. Pre-drill pilot holes for brass screws.
• Insert caster stem back up into leg.
• Attach caster plate to bottom of furniture leg with screws. Stem keeps caster from wobbling. Screws hold caster to furniture leg

Load Capacity, caster strength and stability is directly related to correct installation. If a caster is incorrectly installed it will-not be strong or serviceable.
