Brass Insert Escutcheons, lipped-edge

Brass Insert Escutcheons, with lipped-edge, are an easier to use option than other inserts, as the rolled-rim conceals a wood keyhole border that is not perfectly cut.  Once installed they provide a tidy appearance.  Ideal as replacements on antique furniture.

Brass Insert Escutcheons

• Width: 1/2"
• Height: 13/16" 
• Depth: 1/4"
• Key-bit Height must be less than: 5/8"

This insert is solid cast brass. This rigid construction that does not bend. The finish is polished and lacquered for a lasting shine.

Install Insert Escutcheon

• Determine location for Keyhole placement
• Precisely trace the exterior outline of escutcheon portion that will insert into wood surface using a sharp pencil.
• Remove keyhole interior using a drill and files
• Test fit, ideally should be snug but not tight.
• Refine cutout with sandpaper if necessary
• Fit into place, epoxy can be used to secure keyhole if necessary.
