3-Way Mogul Lamp Sockets provide 3 levels of bright light. This historic style was frequently used in the mid 1900's on reflector floor lamps and large table lamps. Use when restoring antique and vintage lighting.

Quality Sockets for Quality RestorationsWhen restoring older lighting it is best to replace both socket and lamp cord. |
They are considerably bigger than standard sockets. 3-way turn-knob switch, offers three ranges of light: 100, 200 and 300 watts. Use with Mogul Light Bulb. These sockets were originally used with incandescent bulbs however due to new government regulations these bulbs have now been replaced with updated, more energy efficient LED types. Large metal base screws onto ½"- ¼ IP lamp pipe. Made of unglazed white porcelain with a metal interior.
I had replaced everything else in my sister's cherished floor lamp. She wanted to continue using it. The socket was the hardest piece to find until I found Paxton. They had exactly what I needed. I matched it by the picture. It looked right and it turned out to be an exact match for the piece that wasn't working in her lamp. I couldn't be happier to finally be able to return the lamp to my sister in perfect working order. If you need something like this, you can rest assured that Paxton is going to treat you right.
I had almost given up finding a socket for my grandfather's lamp. Then I found Paxton Hardware. Service is quick and returns are easy to make. I found the instructions for this socket were easy to follow. Within 30 minutes after delivery of my order, I had the lamp rewired and back in use. The replacement socket and Paxton Hardware both get a 5-star rating from me.
Everything is fine and works great. Thanks for the great service!
I have had bad luck with replacement switches burning out. The first one was loose and the second jammed up. The plastic housing was partly melted. The fault was the actual plastic switch inside the base. It was a cheaply made switch and a critical fail point. I have installed the base and switch from Paxton Hardware, LTD. into the antique torchiere. So far, it functions well and feels right. We are pleased and thankful to finally get the issue solved. I had to grind a slight groove in the ceramic base to allow for switch shaft clearance. This was a manufacturing flaw in the upper half of the base. Switch seems fine. The original base and switch lasted for 50+ years before giving out. I don't expect the "new" replacements to have the same longevity, but if I can get 10 years out it, that's a win in my book. I am thankful these units are available.
during our renovation of a estate sale treasure/floor lamp our repairman requested that we purchase a new ceramic/porcelien base as the original 1910 issue had a few problems-we concurred and were deleted when we received a perfect replication/match.Once installed we were anxious for the final home test-least I say we garnered an A+ let there be light thanks so much
