Install

Install Duncan Phyfe style Feet

  • Claw foot should fit down snugly, onto furniture foot.
  • If foot-size differs from claw foot, it may be necessary to reshape furniture foot. 
  • Test fit, once foot is correctly shaped.
  • If minor adjustments are still needed, carefully bend brass a slight amount to conform to furniture foot.
  • Once fit is correct, attach with 2 mounting pins.

If restoring furniture: legs may need alteration to accommodate claw feet.
Description

The Antique Claw Foot design is a classic feature found on Duncan Phyfe, Colonial Revival, and Empire-style furniture. This ornamental foot fits over the end of curved leg feet, resembling a paw.  It slips down over the flat part of the leg that rests on the floor, fully enclosing the front, sides, and top of the furniture foot. Provides both protection and aesthetic appeal. It is commonly used on tables and sofas.

Material & Finish

These claw feet are stamped brass with sharp, crisp detail. A darkened finish has been applied highlighting characteristics of an animal paw. The slight malleability of stamped brass allows these feet to be slightly maneuvered for a more precise fit on furniture legs.
