Measuring & Install

When selecting replacement hurricanes: first determine base diameter, known as the fitter. Bottom diameter is measured outside edge to outside edge. Most sconces have a 1-5/8" fitter size.
Height is a matter of personal taste. It should be proportional to lamp, sconce or candlestick.
If having trouble getting an accurate diameter. Test by cutting a ring to needed diameter. Slip down over burner to check fit.
Gently place sconce in holder. It should fit snug but not tight.

Description

Glass Hurricane Sconce for antique and vintage lighting. It beautifully adorns candlesticks, wall sconces, chandeliers and light fixtures. This blown glass lamp sconce is clear, offering an enchanting look of the candle-like light inside. Standard base fits holders requiring a 1-5/8" fitter. Compact height is 6-1/2”.

Material & Finish

These sconces are expertly made of Borosilicate glass. This durable type glass is different than regular glass. It is specifically designed to not crack under extreme temperature-changes. Glass is relatively thin, use care when placing in burner/holder. Do not force glass into holder.

Glass Hurricane Sconce

I brought this wall mounted brass hurricane sconces for flowers back in 1992 from Spiegel catalogs which are no longer in business. I had my place repainted, but I accidentally broke the glass hurricane which is very delicate. So, I went on a fishing expedition via the internet and found Paxton Hardware which featured clear blown glass hurricane sconces.
These were the exact size thus I ordered them.
The hurricane sconce arrived well-packaged, with ample padding to protect the delicate glass cylinder from damage in transit. Upon opening the box, I was immediately struck by the quality of the materials. The glass was clear and smoothly finished, with no visible bubbles or distortions; its weight suggested sturdiness without feeling overly heavy.
Mounting the glass hurricane sconce onto my existing wall sconce fixture was straightforward.
I am glad of the excellent investment. The price was competitive; the added value far outweighs the cost. The replacement of these glass hurricane fixtures will remain relevant for years to come.
In summary, the replacement of this glass hurricane for my wall sconce has brought it back to their beauty in my living space. Whether you are looking to refresh an existing fixture or create a focal point in a room, I highly recommend that you consider Paxton Hardware because they offer a harmonious blend of antique tradition and quality products.

Excellent. Fit the chandelier perfectly!

Administrative Assistant

The delivery was prompt, the globes are a tad shorter than I thought the would be, but the will work just fine.
