Material & Finish

18 gauge: 2 parallel stranded copper wires with standard SPT-2 plastic insulation - Transparent Gold.
The smooth plastic covered side is positive/hot. Whereas the opposite side with slight ribs in plastic covering is neutral/negative.
Stripped, copper-tipped ends simplify wrapping wire around socket screws.
Molded-on plug is permanently attached to lamp cord.
