Surface Locks
These Cabinet Door Surface Lock feature a surface mount design that requires no mortising for easy installation. The lock screws to door frame interior. It is double handed making it suitable for use on both left and right hand doors.
Furniture Door LockIf replacing an old lock, BACKSET SIZE is critical, as keyhole in lock and furniture must line up together.
Many vintage lock sizes are no longer made. As a result it may not be possible to exactly match an old lock. |

These Cabinet Door Surface Lock has a brass face plate and brass-plated steel lock-box. The mechanism has a tumbler action. A strike is unnecessary, therefore not included. Economically priced, ideal for vintage restorations. Made In England.
Install Considerations:
- Cabinet Door Surface Lock are quick and easy to install as no mortising is need
- Mount lock directly to cabinet door interior
- Surface locks are unique in that they are reversable, meaning that they can be used on either a right or left hand door.
- If replacing an old lock: measure distance between selvedge-edge (edge where bolt shoots through lock) to lock pin in center of keyhole. This measurement is known as the backset.
