Half Mortise Box Locks
Brass Box Lock is a large heavy duty, half mortise style for lift lid chests and trunks. Use on large tool boxes and blanket chests. Once installed, lock is hidden from exterior view
This half mortise style is for lift lids. It fits into a partial cut out pocket in box interior. Strike attaches underneath surface of lid. When lid is closed, strike drops down into lock. Key turns one lever mechanism to secure lid.

This large, heavy duty lock is crafted with durability in mind. It is expertly constructed with a brass face plate and strike. The lock body and locking mechanism is steel. Lock box is riveted to the faceplate. Made in England.
Install Considerations
- Install this half mortise lock into a partial cut out on furniture interior. In closed position, lock is not seen.
- Strike attaches underneath surface of lid.
- If replacing an old lock: measure distance between top edge of lock to lock pin in center of keyhole. This measurement is known as the backset.
