Antique Box Locks are authentic copies of original locks used on old furniture. They are specifically designed to be used on vintage furniture with lift lids. Once installed, the keyhole is all you see when looking at front of box. This type adds a historic look to old and new furniture.
These locks are a half mortise style with a special type strike. This strike attaches to under side of lift-lid. When lid is down, strike engages with lock. However, to secure lid, use key to turn mechanism to locked position. For more info, see our page on replacing half mortise locks.
