18th Century Style Drawer Pull - Period Furniture Hardware

These Colonial Drawer Handles are perfect for antique and vintage furniture. They are designed in the Chippendale period style and feature a large flat backplate, which was a popular characteristic in the 18th century. These pulls make great replacements on furniture that has been damaged by previous hardware. Crafted from solid brass with a living finish, these Colonial Drawer Handles have a size of 2-1/2" on center.

How to measure Chippendale Handles for Drawers

    Measure Colonial Drawer Handles

    • Boring: distance between center of mounting hole to center of adjacent mounting hole.
    • If replacing handles:  replacement-handle-boring must match actual boring measurement in drawer.
    • Overall Size: width and height of handle at widest point.

    Attach Chippendale Pulls

    • Posts, bail and backplate are separate, assemble when mounting.
    • Insert one post into backplate and position on drawer front. Insert screw, from drawer interior, through mounting hole and screw into back of post (do-not tighten).
    • Insert bail in mounted post, add second post to other end of bail, insert second post through backplate, continue as before.
    • Once together and in place, tighten screws.
    • Pulls are secured using 8-32 machine screws. Length supplied is determined by manufacturer. While supplied screw length is generally useful, occasionally a different size is required. Please let us know if you need a specific length. To determine the correct size: measure wood thickness and add 1/4".

    Perfect Replacement Piece and Timely

My order from Paxton came yesterday, quickly and it was just what I needed. I have acquired an 18th century Chippendale mid-Atlantic desk with bookcase and part of one of the drawer pulls was missing. I needed the bail and one post. In a search on the internet I found your company and you had just what I needed. I was able to use the original backplate and post and add your new post and bail for a very close match. With a little filing and antiquing I will be able to blend old and new into a great replacement. My local brass casting guy would make me what I needed for a great deal more than you charged and the wait would have been several months.

Thanks for having what I needed, getting it to me quickly, and I particularly appreciated being able to talk to your staff during my order. You will remain my first contact as needs arise in the future.

    The right stuff

Meaning unlike other vendors these are actually solid brass at a fraction of the price of the usual suspects.
I mean the usual suspects hardware is great but I'm on a budget.

worked well and not made in China

Nice looking replicates of antique drawer pull. Look nice and thankfully are made in Taiwan and not China. A bit on the thin side compared with originals but look nice.
