Binding cane is made from the wider outer peel of the rattan palm. These glossy strands are a pleasing, durable weaving material. They age beautifully from a light blonde to a rich caramel shade over time. It can be stained however the glossy finish prohibits stain from easily penetrating the material, a couple coats may be necessary with proper dry time in between.
