Binding Cane, 3/16 inch

Binding cane  is a natural plant material used in a variety of furniture repair and replacement tasks. This binder type serves as the finishing touch when weaving a cane chair seat as it covers and secures the holes around the seat’s perimeter. It is also used on some furniture styles to wrap joints, arms, and legs to enhance strength and stability. It can be woven in herringbone, diamond, and diverse geometric patterns. In addition it can be utilized in basket-weaving applications. Available in three widths. 

3/16" / 5 mm Binding Cane

Binding cane is made from the wider outer peel of the rattan palm. These glossy strands are a pleasing, durable weaving material. They age beautifully from a light blonde to a rich caramel shade over time. It can be stained however the glossy finish prohibits stain from easily penetrating the material, a couple coats may be necessary with proper dry time in between.
