Surface Locks for Cabinet Doors
Japanned Iron Door Lock is a traditional style often seen on antique furniture. These hard working locks are made strictly for doors. Easy to install, surface locks mount directly to interior door frame, with no mortising required.

This Lock is made of steel with a historic black japanned-iron finish. This finish was developed in late 17th century Europe to imitate Asian lacquer work. The mechanism has a tumbler action. Strike is not included, as is not required. Made In England.
Install Considerations:
- This black cabinet door lock is quick and easy to install as no mortising is need
- Mount lock directly to cabinet door interior
- Surface locks are unique in that they are reversable, meaning that they can be used on either a right or left hand door.
- If replacing an old lock: measure distance between selvedge-edge (edge where bolt shoots through lock) to lock pin in center of keyhole. This measurement is known as the backset.
