Mica refers to a group of minerals. These silicate minerals are heat-resistant, do not conduct electricity and appear in various colors. The sheet mica is made by laminating mica flakes - crystals together with shellac or resin.

Large round mica lamp shades are made on a rust resistant metal frame.  Each is trimmed in a dark brown braid reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts era. Frame offers two fitter options: v-notches to sit on a reflector lampshade and a center ring to fit onto harp.
