Antique Old Style Brass Casters are an early design from the mid 1800's. Originally they were used on table and chair legs.
These old style furniture casters are reproduced to match originals. Each is solid brass crafted from substantial castings. Finish is antique, it is darkened to look old. Old style brass casters are defined by the unusual distinctly shaped stem that is short and thick. Caster swivels at swivel-joint between fork and leg plate.
These casters were the perfect finishing touch for an antique walnut drop leaf table that one of my grandfathers built many years ago. The table had been saved from a fire and had suffered some damage and had been in storage when we received it and my husband refinished it. 3 out of 4 casters were damaged and we opted to find a good replacement for the casters and the Paxton Old Style Antique Brass Caster is perfect.

Good, pricey, but the best I found online
As the title said, these are good. Well-made enough, and exactly as described. I wished they were ball bearing load bearing for the posts and wheels, but both are just pins w/o bearings.
So, I guess they're "authentic," but sometimes incorporating new technologies into what's obviously a repair job can make everyone - the repairer and the customer/user - a bit happier. Still, they're good quality, were the best option to fix an old desk chair that others had fixed multiple times, and so I'm good.
