If replacing drawer handles, check distance between holes

Each handle is crafted from cast brass with an antique finish that has been darkened for an aged appearance. Due to the hand applied process, the finish may vary slightly, creating an authentic and unique look. The sturdy brass casting of the backplate and handle ensures they will not bend and are not suitable for use on serpentine-shaped drawers.

Measure Victorian Drawer Handles

Boring: distance between center of mounting hole to center of adjacent mounting hole.
If replacing handles: replacement-handle-boring must match actual boring measurement in drawer.
Overall Size: width and height of handle at widest point.

Install Victorian Drawer Pulls

Handle attaches to drawer with two eye bolts.
To Install: start from drawer front.
Insert eyebolts through holes in backplate, front to back.
Continue inserting post through holes in drawer, allowing posts to be loosely positioned.
Position handle and insert handle-ends into 2 eyebolts.
Push eyebolts with handle into place.
From drawer interior, screw nuts on bolts and tighten.

I have an old Victorian sideboard that I got from my mother-in-law. Apparently, it had been mediocrely refinished and they put Chippendale drawer pulls on it. Those have bugged me for a couple years. I finally found these Victorian drawer pulls. I did my best to match the design style and the lock casings. These fit the style so much better, though they’re not as big as the original ones that would have been on sideboard. I can see through the refinish where they extended. These are very pretty, however.

The only thing that I’m not a big fan of is that they just have a small nut on the back that’s inside the drawer so that the screw hangs out Inside the drawer. I wish it had a cap type of screw on it instead, because that rough edge of the screw sticking out could possibly snag or scratch something I put in the drawer. If the nut loosens at all, which is difficult to tighten fully, the handle can slide off because it’s not an attached part of the pull. Maybe that’s the way they were made in the day? I have photos, but no way to add them to this review. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase.

We try to provide authentic hardware whenever possible. These pulls including the eyebolt and nut are copies of original Victorian pulls. This style post was repeatedly used on drawer pulls from this time period.
If needed: Cut bolts shorter with hacksaw or wire cutters. Before cutting, screw nut onto bolt above intended cut. After cut, work nut up and down cut edge, to straighten threads.
