Brass Box Locks are a traditional choice for securing antique and vintage chests and boxes. Crafted with durability in mind, these locks are expertly constructed with a brass face plate, strike, and a steel lock box that is riveted to the plate. The locking mechanism features a single lever design for ease of use.
These are half mortise type locks for lift lid furniture. Once installed, lock is fitted into a partial cut out in box interior. Strike attaches underneath surface of lid. When lid is closed, strike drops down into lock. Key turns one lever mechanism to secure lid. Once installed, lock is hidden from exterior view. Made in England.
Great price and quality. Not like some I've installed in the past. Better than expected. Fair price for the quality what is what I was hoping for for the quality box I just completed.
Used this to add a lock to a small chest. Sturdy and exactly as specified.
I use these locks for a 9'x15' walnut doved tailed box. This is the 4th or 5th time I have used this style lock and they are perfect and unique.
The lock was perfect. The description online was very detailed and complete. Ordering was easy because of these specifics.
Perfect lock for the small keepsake box I made.It latched well and came with two keys.
Speedy delivery was a plus.
