Side Mount Lamp Socket has a unique method of attachment. It connects to 1/8 IP lamp pipe on side of socket at a 90 degree angle, rather than at base. Wire exits thru this side connection of socket. Once installed, set screw provides secure attachment. Accessible pull chain enables easy access for on/off switching. If using on lightweight-lamps, lamp may need to be steadied when chain is pulled. These unique side mount sockets are often used with lamp clusters and on wall mount lamps.
The socket body is brass, providing superior durability and a long-lasting quality appearance. Unlike brass-plated or brass-guilt sockets, it does not become dull or washed-out over time.
Before making any changes to electrical fixtures and/or lamps:
- Disconnect plug/wire from the electrical source.
- Turning lamp off will not protect you from electric shock.
- If you are unsure how to safely proceed contact a licensed electrician.

Peter W. I recently acquired three vintage Chapman lamps. One had a damaged side mount lamp socket. Paxton hardware was the only place I could find a suitable replacement. When I received the socket I was very pleased because the quality exceeded the original! I will not hesitate to use Paxton hardware for any future repair needs.

Karen M. I ordered a side mount lamp. socket to go into an old lamp. This type of socket is difficult to find, but Paxton's had it! Received the socket very quickly after ordering, and, while I have not yet installed it, it looks to be a good quality socket.

P M. I was faced with restoring an antique floor lanp, with two brass fixtures. I searched and searched many sources, until finding these. Rejoice. They worked perfectly. Wiring was a puzzle, but I was able to thread everything and now I have a fully functioning lamp, back to original function. Thank you. Lots of other good, hard to find items in the store, also. I will be back.
